Babe Ruth rookie card sells for $200,000
. It was just one of the items sold in a record breaking multi-owner all-consignment baseball card and memorabilia auction for a total of $8.7 million in sales.

Greg Oden signed a three-year contract worth at least $3 million Tuesday with the Topps Company. He'll be feature on a basketball card this August with Bill Russell in celebration of 50 years since Topps created it's first basketball card set.

Premier Postage announced the introduction of limited edition, commemorative customized postage sheets of newly elected baseball Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn.

Will Barry Bonds donate his game-used items to the Baseball Hall of Fame? The Hall already has some items from his earlier playing days, but question remain about any additional donations by the slugger.

All time save leader Trevor Hoffman knows he's working on some special sports memorabilia. He carefully has his post victory game-used items archived.

Beckett has provided an update on the autographed Michael Jordan rookie card being auctioned last week. Check to see if it sold for more than the previously held record owned by a LeBron James' 2003-04 Exquisite Collection card which sold for $13,000.

If you have a sports card valued over $1,000, Beckett will sell it for you for 20% plus ebay fees. These are called Beckett Select Auctions. It's an interesting idea since having the Beckett reputation backing up your auction could really help you get maximum value for your card. You can see an example of this with a current auction featuring an Ultimate Collection 1/1 Peyton Manning with NFL jersey shield, two jersey pieces with patch and an on-card autograph!
